FINO's first foray into the Government sector was with the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) which epitomized the convergence of the banking segment with the government domain. FINO stepped in to deploy a workable, scalable and robust solution and met with immediate success.

The FINO card functions as a pan-India card, which can be used for domestic payments across more than 50,000 villages across the country. FINOs architecture based on using fingerprints as validation has been adopted by several state governments across the country to deliver social security schemes to the citizens leading to substantial savings in terms of resources for the government.

The usage of biometric technology has reduced possibilities of misuse and malpractices in payments to citizens. It has expedited the process, ensuring that the beneficiaries receive payments quicker and with less hassle.

FINO is the largest agency in the country distributing NREGA / SSP benefits in  more than 12 states for more than 11.5 million customers. We have enabled these government benefits to reach a large segment of the bottom of pyramid population deep into unchartered territories, bringing a sea-change in the lives of millions.
